Предлог over описывает движение чего-либо на всем протяжении какого-либо пространства: to go over the field пройти по всему полю (от начала до конца). В некоторых контекстах предлоги across и over взаимозаменимы: over/across the river на противоположном берегу реки. Предлог through, в отличие от across и over, указывает на движение через отверстие или пространство, насквозь: to go through the wood пройти лесом/через лес (начать движение на одном конце леса, войти в лес и выйти на противоположном его конце).
